Social space/canteen for employees

Teufelberger AG, based in Wels, Upper Austria, is the world’s largest and most successful manufacturer of ropes and steel cables. Teufelberger AG recently built a new office building at its main facility, with the design including a generously sized social space and an adjacent auditorium.

For Teufelberger’s CEO, Florian Teufelberger, maintaining a connection with their excellent rope products was important when considering the design of the social space. The unique material and variety of colours initially gave the design team the idea of using the Teufelberger product as a key design element. Along with other areas within the office, the designer Stefan Umdasch particularly wanted to use this meeting point to show both internal and external visitors how beautiful and unique the ropes could be when lined up together.

Ropes adorn the wall panels and the rest of the room has been finished in the company’s matching corporate colours. The optical impression created with these materials is repeated in many other areas of the new office building, reminding the visitor of the Teufelberger AG product time after time. The wall panels can be easily cleaned.
